The Institute for Supply Management’s nonmanufacturing index that measures the economy’s service sector rose to 53.2 percent in September from 51.5 percent in August, ISM officials reported yesterday. Economists predicted the index would rise to 52.3 percent. Any reading above 50 signals growth, and the index has been above that level for nine straight months. (source: ABA Daily News Bytes)
